I've struck a nerve apparently 😏
So this guy creates the hands-down best product the car audio community has ever seen, literally every single site and forum I've read over the past 72/96 hours touts this stuff as the holy Grail.
And the dude just up and quits making product and doesn't sell/license the patent?
I've read every page of his site. I even emailed him Tues or wed about a kit for my truck since he used to sell kits or something....I honestly don't recall if the night I emailed him he had his retirement notice on the main page. Oh well, not just my loss but EVERY single person who does their own car audio research, professional shops, etc. This is where the internet and consumers sometimes lose, when you have all this great feedback and reviews and opinions.....now to a non-existent product. Bummer!

I know there was rumors of Don being in talks with people about selling SDS, but he just retired early this year. Selling a company isn't the easiest or quickest thing and who knows if it is really worth it. But for the time being, I wouldn't share the secret sauce recipe until I figured out what I was doing.

But his CLD and velcro (skizer found the velcro and is selling it) was the holy grail. Search CLD testing on diyma. It independently tested to be the best price vs performance. The other products, ccf, MLV, melamine foam, etc were fairly standard but he offered them at very competitive prices.

Sound Skins also shut it's doors recently as well. Second Skin Audio is still going strong though and has great products.

I tried placing an order and they told me they were shutting their doors soon. They are still selling what they have in stock for the moment. Those new speaker rings they announced will not be available after all.
