How about a feedback rating system. That way the shady people or the people that kind of stink at selling would stick out from the rest of us. This is just a thought though.

Or to lock the caption under our ID names so that people can not put "Senior Member" when they have been a member for 2 weeks, have 17 posts and have not really contributed anything useful except to plug a sale for their overpriced truck or to look at something random like... fish.

But I agree with Massbrandon. A way to distinguish the actual contributing members from the smoke blowers would be a great addition IMHO.

 

I think its a good idea ya know? Almost every site that I am on I have some kind of feedback rating. I think it kind of distinguishes the people that are terrible sellers or what not from those of us who actually try and care.

Or just a block/bar set up that starts with 1 block for the unknown/lurkers to 6 blocks for the well known/knowledgeable people.

 

Yeah something like that ^^. I know on some of the other forums I belong to there is a % number by your name that tells people that you are a trustworthy seller. I think that if we could do something like that it would really help.

 

Yeah that would be good for selling/buying process but I am more talking about having a bar system in place that if you help someone with something or do a write up on something useful, any member can go into your profile and give you "rep" points and the bar would increase as you gain points. Something along those lines to help with the everyday posting / question asking and answering.

 

Yeah thats another thing that I have been apart of. Its kind of like a REP system. If you answer someones question or point them in a direction that helps them then they can give you some REP. One of the sites that I belong to is bodybuilding.com uses this system and its awesome.
