Just spend some time looking for a great deal on the truck you want, it'll make up for your short term loss on the truck.

I said keep it and fix it. But that depends.

How much do you still owe if she's not already paid off? If financed, how much truly have you paid off of the $11K you paid in Jan.? Would you be willing to take a $3500 hit for the trade-in value? And that might be the high mark for trade-in, so you may not even get the $7500.

All items other than the Trans. sound minor. Take it to a stealership or reputable tranny shop and have them look at it. Better to know what's wrong before you make the leap either way.

It's hard to say. You bought a 8-10yr old truck with over 100k miles and don't know the history behind it. Used vehicles, even if kept in good shape are bound to have problems. If you are not happy with the truck and think it'll be a money pit, I say do away with it sooner than later. If you love the truck, but know there will need to be some typical upkeep items, I say keep it.

I dont love it but I dont dislike it either. Im impartial. The truck is not bad, but its gonna take alot of my TLC and whatnot. It runs just fine other that little tranny issue every once in a while. I will keep it for a while and see what happens. I am about to go spend a couple hundred dollars on Upper control arms, lower ball joints and outer tie rods to redo the front end and then next month it will get new shocks.

I dont know how much money you have to spend on another truck. If you are just going to buy another POS then keep the one you have. If you can afford a low mileage or new truck and can absorb the loss on this one, sell it and get a newer one.

Follow the cowboy rule, "sell your truck while it still runs".

My 2000 will be 11 yrs old in Oct. (99 build date) I have no plans on selling it. I have replaced a few major parts but all in all I like the truck. From a fiscal point of view it is cheaper to keep what you have. Pay it off and then decide. There a countless thousands of used F-150s still going strong with well over 100k on the clock.

If you're driving the older vehicles then whatever you get is going to have some issues. I only buy old crap so my stuff always has issues, but fixing that stuff is easy. I do like my old crap though, while you don't particularly care. If you're ok with the loss (and you will lose) then get rid of it and get something you really like this time. Otherwise make it better, make it nicer. Make it stand out in the parking lot (wow man the colors ). Make the interior like your living room. Have fun with the thing.

Our Windstar does the transmission thing. There's no doubt in my mind it will go eventually but I'll have it long enough to go through two of them anyways. Lucas helped a lot, throw some in there.

And yes I voted correctly.
