Default Washer Nozzles Freezing Up

It's been a busy fall, and I haven't yet cleared enough space in the garage to get my truck inside (it's my only "chore" on the list for tomorrow). We've had some early-season snow in Detroit, and every morning that I've had to drive into work after it snowed a little, my windshield washer won't spray. I usually clear most of the snow off the cowl, and I've never owned a vehicle that can't "power through" a few flakes at the base of the windshield. Anyone else having issues with this?

The windshield wash solution doesn't have the necessary anti-freeze mixture. The entire system needs to be thawed-out and flushed with the correct windshield wash mixture.

BTW .....

HINT/TIP: Put your vehicle information (year, model, cab, trim, engine, wheelbase, _x4 drive, mileage, etc., etc., etc.) in your signature -OR- provide it in your posting(s).

Simple solution? Remove check valve, carefully drill a 1/16" hole into each of the 3 holes and never have another issues with no fluid when its cold.

The stuff I've been using since the first time I had to refill it is a winter blend that freezes at -25F, so I don't actually think the washer solution is freezing. It seems more likely that the snow is melting into the nozzles and blocking the spray at that point. I've just never owned a car that collects so much in the nozzles... to the point that it can't melt its way through in a few seconds.

Truck info added as well.

After reading a few of the "suggested posts", this sounds like the most-likely culprit. Thanks. I'm gonna look into removing these check valves.

No problem and mine never freeze after drilling out the valve.
