Best of both worlds: Level your truck, and put rear air-bags to keep the rear end from sagging under heavy loads.

That's one of the beautiful aspects here ... you don't have to choose one vs. the other ... you CAN have your cake and eat it too!

Agreed! Works for me.

If I hauled/towed often enough, I'd have airbags for sure ... cuz I'm not spending 80% or more of the time w/ my truck's rear end in the air relative to the front.

^ This. I just started a thread over in the 04/08 section, trying to make my mind up about my tired leaf springs. I think I'm going to try out the add-a-leaf myself.

Exactly! The way I see it my truck rarely gets loaded down enough to make it squat but even if it did, it's only temporary until I get home to unload, if I were carrying loads on a regular basis I would add air bags.

I agree somewhat but...... There is a reason the suspension is so mushy it's like riding in a 70's caddy with blown shocks. Ford did an amazing job advertising and catering to the soccer mom/dad crowd that were looking for something other than an SUV.

I see many, many people in my area not using it as a truck.

I do like my STX, it has just enough flash but great looks and utility. I looked at the FX4 but didn't like the interior, I wanted vinyl floors and no flow through console.

Oh and as Wiggum mentioned, bag the rear and have the best of both worlds!

Like they say "there's an *** for every seat". I owned XLTs for about 30 years and I swapped to FX4s 5 years ago because I wanted the flow through console.
