Hmm no idea, I know they have a super cab with 8' bed, we have an 06 F250 super crew at work with that configuration, it's a bitch to park that boat.

You can't get an f-150 with a crew cab long bed configuration - just 5.5" and 6.5"(almost every screw around me is 6.5, hardly a 5.5 to be seen). Super duties offer it, and most people who will make good use of it will likely opt for the stronger truck anyhow.

It's not like you can't get a longbed.....I have a 6.5 flareside, which I love the look of and the steps are of as much use to me as more length, so I'm happy. Could not be happy with a straight side under 8', I haul plywood, I haul lumber, long sticks of firewood, big loads of cans, various other large loads. A 5.5 wouldn't cut it. While I have a regular wheelbase, longer wouldn't faze me - I'd have bought a hatchback if driving/parking something big bothered me.

But, some don't use their trucks as intended. Some mostly tow rather than haul. Some haul all the time but only need 5.5 feet - if hauling dirt, rock, or the like, the truck will reach her weight limits before a 5.5' is full.

That's why ford offers 3 beds and 3 cabs.....differing needs and wants between customers

This^^^I bought my truck more for towing my 28' pontoon and 31' Aerolite travel trailer. Trucks arent just for hauling giant loads of gravel or pallets of shingles.

Your right about the trailer..but I woulda kept my suv if I wanted to trailer everything I haul
the convenience of having hauling ability everywhere you are rather than home and back for the trailer

Ditto! My utility trailer hasn't seen the road since I bought my truck. More of a pita to drag around than just loading up the bed.

Agreed...…i'll haul a trailer if need be, I can't exactly fit my 16' boat in my bed. I hauled a borrowed trailer to help my uncle move, also with a full bed.

But most times I just load the bed, its quite handy and I'd rather do that unless dealing with stuff that simply needs a trailer. I have a great uncle who likes trucks but claims a smaller rig is convenient. I just think, the trunk of that SUV is more convenient than a bed, especially when hauling that trailer that won't haul much more if any?

But, once again, to each their own.

I didn't purchase my 2014 4x4 Lariat F-150 to haul lumber or rocks.
I use mine to haul my Suitcase & food to my Purple Cabin in Alma Colorado.. Go 4-wheelin & take photo's.
Did use it to move my Son & take furniture to the mountains.
First F-150 with the 6.5 ft. bed. Wouldn't buy anymore 5.5 beds..
Unfortunately my Wife drives it more than I do.
Been retired about 9 or 10 years. What a Racket.
