Default Reverse Camera?

So I installed a aftermarket headunit in my 06 and it can handle a reverse camera, but I don't know where i should mount it.

Does anyone have or know where i can buy a tailgate handle that has the camera in it?

Or any other way that would be good way to mount it? maybe in the emblem? I just want something that is out the way and is easy to install.

Put it in the bumper. Just remember when drilling the hole, measure twice cut once.

I am in a similar situation. I have a 2010 and want to put an aftermarket camera in but need it to show the hitch as this is the most important part of the camera for me. I will get a screen that goes in the truck somewhere. Sorry not trying to steal your thunder but seems as if we need the same thing ultimately.

I just put on an aftermarket on mine. I picked a license plate frame that had the camera in it and that will see the trailer hitch just fine.

There is also a massive thread here:
https://www.f150forum.com/f38/09-rea...-camera-18468/

This thread explains how to use the OEM emblem camera for the 09-10, but will probably also work for your 06 with an aftermarket HU as you just need the pinouts.

So what brand is the camera you put on the frame that sees the hitch on the truck just fine.?

I believe it was a Boyo... this looks like the one I have:
http://www.nextag.com/Boyo-VTL422C-B...44/prices-html

Picture quality is mediocre... but I see enough of what I need to see without spending the extra money for the blue-oval camera, or for something with "night vision"

Are you using a wireless monitor or what type are you using? I am thinking this is the one I will go with as well. Thanks Joe

I ran the cable to the back of my aftermarket head unit. I wired it using the switched power on my 7-pin trailer connection.

It is basically an rca connection.
