Clearly states with voice activated nav. which you don't have

 

Just got off of the phone with the folks at SYNC and they are saying the version 4.4 is no longer available because of flaws in the update. Although you can go to sync my ride and it says you have an update the update will not work. You'll get the nice lady that comes over your speakers saying that there are no files on your flash drive. Really aggrivating because I have spent the last few hours trying to get this crap to work. No other updates are scheduled to be released at this time. They say maybe in a few months they will have another one released.

 

Ah, so this is why I can't get anything to download! Every time I click the download button I get a spinning circle (like its about to load something for me) and then the page just defaults back to the download page with nothing processing. I thought maybe it was a broken link. Well, that is a bummer. I was really hoping to update my system.


Well, at least I know now. It was driving me crazy and having me thinking I was doing something wrong.

 

Should all my sync update files have 14D544 not 14D546 in them? I keep getting install failed. "Not enough space or version not supported"


Using a 4GB usb formatted to FAT32.

 

If these are the correct files from the sync web site the install files look to be written correctly.

 

I downloded and installed the v3.8 update yesterday, and it went flawlessly. Ran a VHR prior to updating SYNC and it showed everything it checked on the truck being tip-top.

Biggest plus with the update is that my phone's "media" connection is now automatic, whereas before only the phone connection was automatic. To explain a little better, my phone never had an issue staying paired with the truck, but the media/mp3/music side of the phone did. I would have to change my radio to my bluetooth audio, and then it would do this "connecting w/ bluetooth media device", and THEN the phone would pair up on the media side of things. Now, after this update, it's automatic just like the phone side of things is.

Not really sure what else was fixed or improved with this update, but this one little nuance makes me happy, that's for sure.
