If you have money to pay for mods, then you have money to pay rent.

After college, or whatever your post High school plans are, have at it. Until then, you're living in your parent's house, which means living by their rules.

I like how you wanted to know how others approach the purse string holder in their lives and instead you got 50 responses about how irresponsible you are. Talk to her like a man, be careful with your money and do what you gotta do. Don't worry about what everyone else has, be happy with what you got and can afford. 
FWIW, I'm the purse string holder. There are a lot of mods I don't do because I can't justify spending the money.
