heck, I even gave a screen shot of what PID to look for and in what module.

is a 2020 a 2012. No.

is a 2003 a 2012? No.

but since I’ve seen both years give actual oil pressure readings, it’s not hard to see the engineers kept it throughout.

one thing I learned on the last vehicles; gm, ford and ram/dodge, I’ve owned that’s newer than 2010 will give you actual live readings. So I’m curious how these tuners are seeing all this information. As it was explained to me, the safety regulations changed so that even dealer software can’t show live data as you drive. They have to start a recorder and then take it for a test drive and then come back and review it in the shop.

sitting in the drive way is different than being able to drive down the road.

Still waiting for your screenshots showing actual oil pressure readings from a 2012 / 2003.

How does one show something that does not or should not exist?

You're the one that made the claims that run counter to the factory's specifications and documentation. It's up to YOU to "prove" they are wrong...

Then that’s one “up side” to having 2010 and older relating to forscan as I have watched (also recording) live VCT Data while driving at various speeds keeping my eye half off the road so I can see why they did away with it on newer trucks-

There are certain engines from 2015-on that do have an analog oil pressure sensor instead of the simple on/off pressure switch. You MUST use the correct information for the engine (and model year) in question.

Prior to this limited change, it's been several decades since Ford used "real" oil pressure gauges on anything I'm familiar with.

You said the 2003 reading was using an old OBDII reader. Let's see the screen shots from the 2003, not the 2020.

I have downloaded three current OBDII programs and none of them have oil pressure as an option for a data value. They have fuel pressure though, indicating that the programmers were aware of the sensors and saw the value in programming for them and knew how to use the data. Oil pressure would be just as valuable as engine temperature, which is included on all of the scanner programs.

Seems like your claim is probably based on a past faulty memory. No gotchas with out the proof.

gotcha.
Just pulling out the other post that seems to use the 2020 screen shots when talking about a 2003 vehicle.

Seems very clear that some years and models used a switch and others used a sensor. I'd still like to see an actual 2003 oil pressure reading, since i have a 2003. Make sure to specify the type of engine. The 4.6 and 5.4 are shown as having switches, not sensors, according to the official 2003 Ford Workshop Manual. So if you got a pressure reading off of a 2003 V8 that would be something special. No gotchas without the proof. Good luck.
