Fords and getting stuck
You can't touch those numbers in a 1/2 ton, even a supercharged stage 3 roush f150...

It's science

Last year I was rolling in a 08 ranger XL 5 speed, speed demon (haha ya right). I slapped some Hancock Ipikes on in november cause we get 6 months of winter and no 4x4. Threw some sandbags in the back and never got stuck once. I would be on the river fishing and doing the same on the lakes. Never had to shovel ever. Had to rock a few times but it was alright.
Now Im in a f150 and have already been in snow and on ice this year and never needed the 4x4 yet except when I was pulling the boat up an icy ramp/hill. It just tracks excellent BUT I give a lot of credit to the A/T tires I have on. They made the difference I think. The stock Rugged trails would have had my truck in the lake that day.

From: cold hill ky, just the other side of hell's outhouse:)
heres the thing... when i say road course i mean pavment but with curves like a rally course... i can take the 20mph curves in these mountains at 60+ mph, its crazy but its true.. and the stangs and vettes are light in the aazz end, they wont stick becuase they cant, hp is great but good wieght distibution is vital!! also i have the right gear ratio for it.
I just never though tearing my truck up mudding was a good thing to do. If i wanted to go mudding i would buy a four wheeler or an older jeep that i wouldnt mind breaking things on. Those are vehicles to mud in. I use my truck to haul stuff in. Thats why it has a bed and is called a truck. I also use my truck to pull my boat, my flat bed 17' trailer and my cattle trailer. I use my truck to do work with on the farm and to get my boat to the water, not as a toy.
So what is wrong with being a "yankee"? Seems to me we have one more win then the rebels do. Just amazes me the number of people that are still pizzed off about getting their azz kicked. I wont stoop to your level and start name calling.

Whatever man, I'm not going to argue with you. Try it if you want, just to be sure. But when you come back here with your tail between your legs, I'll be the one saying "I told you so" when a high schooler walks all over you with a v6 mustang.
You drive an 18yr old truck, not a car, which is certainly not beating a real sports car. You will lose every time, unless your "road course" is also through a field, a swamp, and a pile of boulders and logs, you might have a chance then. Hopefully no stumps though...
Wait, they have mouintains out East? No offense to anyone, but us out West, call those hills. Check out our 54-14ers (14K ft mtns) in Colorado alone, and everything out East pales in comparison.
I know a lot of respectable grown ups that play in the mud....some people like to go off road and some people don't. I think it has more to do with personal interest, and not so much age. I don't want to beat up my rig but enjoy some light offroading when to opportunity arises. That's just me though and granted I'm only 25 years old. Usually to get my off road experience I just ride my dirtbike.
