And another pic. Now it's time to figure out what each wire does LOL
I tried looking it up online for wire harnesses but I came up with nothing.

If it was illegal why would Ford put a forward camera with monitor in the dash on Raptors?

It's not the best idea to watch tv or video while driving but stupidity is not illegal, even if it was, good luck finding a traffic cop keen enough to spot you looking at your rear view mirror and know you must be looking at a monitor

Now on to the topic at hand, I am not sure exactly how this system works because looking at the wiring diagrams it appears that the body control module feeds the rear view camera electronic module that in turn feeds the monitor in the mirror.

Here is the diagram if you want to make some sense out of it.

P

Is that a state vehicle code of a federal law?

He isn't watching tv. It is like another rear view mirror.

The camera is on all the time and it is triggered by the back up light.

So all you need to do is find the trigger wire to the camera and provide it with another source of power.

Looks to me like the meat of this law is the definition of "television-type receiving equipment". Find the definition of that, and then see if you can argue a good case that a rear-view backup camera is NOT "television-type" equipment, and you won't be breaking the law.
