Default EcoBoost durability?

I currently own a 2011 F150 with the 5.0 V8. I pull a 31' travel trailer with it and have never had any problems with power or trailer control. But I'm getting a few miles on the truck and am thinking about trading for a new one.

When I bought my current one, I specifically avoided the EcoBoost because I just wasn't convinced that a V6 could hold up over the long run.

Now that the motor has been out for a few years, I'm wondering what the user experience is of the folks here on the forum. If you have or had an EcoBoost F150 and have used it for towing, what's your experience been?

every single EB I have seen blew up at 75,346 miles on the clock. bam, just like that.

back to being serious, this topic has been beaten to death, brought back to life, burnt down again, brought back to life again... there are 100's of threads, all turning to a "I dont trust turbos" vs "turbos have been around forever" argument. Bottom line is, the EB is not more or less reliable than your 5.0. Some folks never tow and have issues, others tow 10k lbs everyday and their engine never missed a beat. There is no hard rule of how / when an engine (EB or 5.0) might fail, if it ever does.

I love my 13, only motor related issue was the common condensation issue. Ever since tsb never had any problems. Efficiency suffered since about 1L/100km difference but besides that its been awesome(47000km). Buddies bug me its a v6 blah blah blah but they dont talk s$&@ when they hop in and i show what it can do

Lots of folks are racking up the miles on their EcoBoost trucks. Here's the highest mileage one I've seen:

No engine issues at 300,000 miles. I think they're holding up just fine.

If you like working on vehicles and never being able to trust it, go for the ecoboost.
If you want solid reliability, stick with your 5L.

@02_Lightning has been known to post solely (or mostly) to bash the EB recently, so it's only good sport and that pretty much illustrates my point in my post above!

X2
He's getting to be as annoying as RRSkinner with his crapping on every Ecoboost thread he can find.

Well I don't really need to trade. Like I said, I've had absolutely no problems with this truck. At 93k it still has a ton of power. It still tows my camper with ease. (I use a weight transfer hitch).

I'm just thinking that I need to trade before I hit 100k to get maximum value. Maybe I'll try an Ecoboost this time. I realize that I'm probably not going to get the answer I was looking for because there are just too many variables from driver to driver.
