I got one from my kids for fathers day. They got it at OReillys for about $20. Took maybe 10 minutes to install........absolutely one of my favorite mods. I can relax knowing the kids aren't gonna crack their heads open or let it slam down. It comes in handy when I have my hands full....just open the latch, step back and watch it open. I get quite a few from people that see it in action.

I have found that there is one major issue... You forget that all trucks don't have them so when you let the tailgate down in your buddys truck it slams down and he gets pissed.

Whats the point of it? I dont see why a tailgate needs to go down slower.

I just grab the handle and let mine go with no issues at all.

So when your hands are full and you have to let the tail gate down you just let it slam down?

**Allinon72 beat to the question!

Didn't the loud noise and jarring force maybe clue you in that it probably wasn't good for it? Lol!
