Default easy down tailgate

Has anyone installed this easy down tailgate shock on there truck. I found it on E-bay. It looks pretty slick, but my only concern is will it freeze up in the winter months.

I've got it....it's awesome! No problem in the winter.

The one's on e-bay seem a little pricey though. Check at Pep Boys and see if they still sell them. They had to order mine from Dee Zee, but I don't think I paid more than $35.

Thanks for the info. I checked out the price from Dee Zee it turns out they are $15 more than E-bay with the shipping. So that is good they do not freeze up in the winter that was the only thing holding me back. Looks easy enough to install I hope.

Never even thought of one of those, kind of like the idea. Here is one for $22 online http://autoplicity.com/products/2807...t_support.aspx

The one on E-bay is $45 including shipping. So I went ahead and bought one. All of the other ones are the same price with shipping. I have no choice but to pay the shipping cost, because I live north of the boarder. Thanks for all of the ideas though.
