Thumbs up Climate Control

I have not had any problems since I unplugged and plugged the climate control...it has been years and never had to replace any thing as far as the AC or the climate control is concerned...

Default no whinners

I posted a year ago about fixing my climate control problem by unplugging. As it turns out the two bottom steering wheel control buttons for temp and blower speed have not worked in some time. In the back of my mind I have thought to unplug the unit again - but haven't.
Now I have a suspect CD error condition where while being loaded with CD's the CD player fails to recognize and CD's installed?? I had to trick it by choosing to load new CD's. Doing this finally got the player to eject them buyt if you don't grab the ejected disc it will take it back and still not recognize any discs.

me thinks I'll unplug it all (and hopefully replug the wires correctly lol). Any notions on disconnecting battery for 20 minutes as to whether this does the same thing.

I have a real messed up idle and gas pedal response.Ford dealer fixed for a $120 software update, but then it has also reverted to a failed state....and I will not pay Ford another red cent to fix their fix. Oddly my unplugging the climate control may have jimmied the software update. Seems to time out about the same time - although it was a year ago.
I'm going to post separately about the idle throttle response if anyone has any ideas so as to not hijack this thread.

I had the same issue and this fixed it! Thanks for the advice!

Mine however was just stuck with all of the Climate control lights stuck on, no blinking. I undid the panel disconnected the 2 wire packs from the back of the panel and tried again. I got the blinking issue it seems everyone else was having at that point. I disconnected the two again and turned the ignition switch to the accessories. I turned it back off, connected the wire harnesses and works like a charm!

Don't get taken by Ford on this. I have a 2004 Lariat & the first one of these units was replaced under warranty at the cost of my dealership. Then the second one was replaced still under warranty at the cost of FORD. The third one, out of warranty they made me pay for. After much argument with the dealership manager I told him I thought it was wrong for me to have to pay for 3 hours of troubleshooting and a new unit, when it was faulty to begin with, had issues under warranty & was a known issue. I also called FORD & they said they had no idea about it which I think was a bunch of horse manure. The next time it goes I'm unplugging it myself. By the way- they gave it a new part number on the third replacement so it must have been changed. The dealership tried to tell me it was a loose wire harness but also said it was a bad design. When I took my truck in for some diagnosing on something else last month I over heard a technician tell another technician that he recognized my truck as the one with a faulty heater/AC control unit. I wonder if he was the one that got yelled at for taking 3 hours on a simple unplug & plug-in job.

Hi I own a 2006 Lincoln Mark LT 4x4. and I am checking out all possible fixes for my climate control panel flashing and the grinding in the dash board. We will be tearing the control panel out this week and trying all the suggested fixes. Thanks in advance

Try it Good luck, and let me know the results.
I'm up to that point, hoping for that to happen .... quick fix with no money involved
