Chevy VS Ford

yes, ultimately what it will probably come down to for me will be what is available in my price range and mileage. Like you say, for my needs, i will probably be okay either way. I guess my main concern is trying to identify models or years, if there are any, that need to be avoided.
i do expect a certain amount of bias towards Ford on this site but you do get some surprising answers sometimes when you talk to a fan of one make about another. The other night i was riding with a Dodge owner....he has a 1998 Ram 1500 and loves it. Says he hopes to keep it at least another 10 years. He then went on to say he has always been impressed with the F series. Quite frankly it was after that conversation that I came here.

I truly wish the Dodge owner well, but It sems to me that whenever you see an older truck, it is a Ford or Chevy. Rarely do you see an older Dodge. It is even harder to find a restored Dodge truck. Just my expeience.

but both have pros n cons
Pros Ford: More luxury:lariat,H-D,platinum. Also seating more comfortable Imo. 4.6 n 5.4 geat engines.
Pros Chevy: Easier to work on engine room wise(at least modles i have worked on). allisons tranny. And the 8100 vortec(8.1) is a ****ing beast
Cons Ford: only con i can say from experince is from the 97-03's that engine is so packed in there god damn.
Cons Chevy: Yet again from experince transfer cases tend to puke more often, and the new body style doesnt apeal to me unless it has oversized tires/rims, the fact they took a bail out and some of there employes still got quite large bonuses bugs me...alot.
(most all thats based of new modeled trucks)

Onlything decent by them is the challanger far as looks go.

I owned a Nissan Frontier and I got to say I loved it ( DONT HATE ME!!). But for the price and the power I can get with the Ford I just couldnt resist turning it in. The look the power and the reliability I get are uncomparabelt to chevy. I even had a friend who bought a GMC while we were deployed, came back saw my Ford and we went shopping that weekend for his. I just like the look mainly and the fact that my car wasnt paid for by taspayers. Just my 2 cents. FORD ALL THE WAY

I like to go on youtube and brag up fords becuase people who don't know any better and have only owned a chevy and think its the best get so mad and just say im a brand loyal *****... but I am... im brand loyal to ford and proud!!!

Truthfully what is the tougher choice.
When it comes down to beeting on a truck and putting them threw hard work what will come out on top. And dont ask why dodge isnt in this poll dodge in my eyes isnt evan a vehicle. More like a giant piece of shi* on wheels.
