I've had mine to the limiter and it didn't feel too bad but it's no car.
I had my S60 T5 to 140 and it felt nice. It was so quiet inside it was almost eerie.

Aren't they limited to 130 on the road, and when you get on a race track the limiter shuts off via GPS? Thought I saw that on Top Gear.

My truck will run 98. But my wallet keeps the truck under 70, I'd rather save a few bucks than get there a few minutes early.

Its not all about the tire ratings. Its also handling characteristics of the truck, as well as what the brakes can handle should you need to stop before running some poor unsuspecting person you are sharing the road with over. These types of trucks aren't built to go 100+ mph, especially on public roadways. I have a tuner that did away with the limiter, but I don't think the truck has ever seen 100+ mph...and I live in the wide open wild west they call Nevada. I love going fast, but I save that for when I'm on my sport quad and the only person I could kill by being stupid is myself.

amen brother! Its the people who think they are Ernhardt on public roads that end up killing some family cruising down the road. Then not only did the undeserving family die, but that normal person who made a horrible mistake ends up going to prison for it. Its a lose lose. Lots of lives ruined like that on a regular basis. I'm going through police training right now and I sure have gotten a whole new outlook on things. Not only on what one stupid mistake can do to your life and others' lives, but also the kind of crazies that are running around out there! My road rage has mellowed out a lot since starting the academy! Its not worth it.

Oh, I've got the car to go REALLY fast when I want to, and it brakes and handles better than most, for sure. So when I feel the need to blast up to 160 or more I take it out for a spin, ride that adrenaline rush, then put it back in the garage for a few weeks...lol.

The point has been made about having a limiter that restricts you to just a few mph over what most Interstates' vehicles travel at. Around here, traffic moves at 85 mph, pretty much any given day. It is DANGEROUS to have to crrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeepppppp by at a 10 mph or so speed difference when you have to pass someone, instead of shiiting and giitting around them. But yeah, as many have said, get a programmer and do away with the limiter. I plan to, as long as I can make DAMMMED sure it won't violate my warranty/extended warranty.

speed is not the contributing factor in most accidents. Its perfectly safe to drive fast if you know what youre doing. However driving to fast for conditions or in heavy traffic and messing with the radio or phone while driving fast can cause accidents, but ultimately its not the speed that cause it, its the distraction. The faster you are going the harder you crash. Obviously its not a good idea to drive faster than conditions allow, and lots of people dont understand what those conditions are sadly so its idiot drivers that give speeding a bad name.

Ive had my '06 up to 103. Thats where the limiter is on it.

Ive made a habit of seeing how fast every vehicle I own goes. My Mustang pinned the 140 mph speedometer.

55 is definately the sweet spot for fuel economy. Unfortunately, here in Atlanta, if you aren't doing 80, you're going to get run over. My truck cut out at 98mph. Don't really see a need to go faster than that. I had my Mustang up to 170 on a not so nice road time once. That was stupid.
