Default 2025 5.0 availability

Well after deciding to order the 2025 F-150 with 5.0 and 3:73 gears the dealer said "I have to get with the Ford rep an see if anymore 5.0's are available. So if I decide to go ahead I might have to settle for a Ecoboost. I'm not sure about that. Comments are welcome on the Ecoboost.

I had a hard time finding the truck I wanted with a 5.0. I found a Lariat with a 5.0 equipped the way I wanted at a dealer 130 miles away. Spent my entire Memorial Day buying a truck. I hate buying cars. Dealers have plenty of trucks as long as you want a V6. I would be driving a Platinum if Ford built them with V8's. I wouldn't be surprised if Ford makes everyone start ordering trucks just to get the "standard equipment" V8s in any trim level. I went from a 3.5 Ecoboost back to the 5.0.

Mine is older (2020), 3.5L, 3.55 differential, Platinum. Just crossed 100,000 miles. I have never been sorry I don't have the 5.0 V8 especially with the 2020. I change oil @ 5,000 miles and have had no issues at all, none. It has a crazy amount of power and great acceleration when I need it. Around 20 mpg. It's been great so far for me. 3.73 gears wouldn't hurt either.

Both EcoBoost options are great and all three engine options seem to have similar reliability these days.

When I was looking for my truck I knew I wanted the 5.0 but it was very hard to find locally. I ended up driving a 6 hour round trip to buy what I ended up with.

5.0 is only available for direct owner order AFAIK. Dealers are pushed into the 3.5

Same here. I traveled a few hours North to Brandon Ford near Tampa to get my 5.0. They had ordered a few 5.0's in the Antimatter Blue with the black appearance package and some other options. Got a Lariat with the 502A package. Awesome truck and I'm glad I have the 5.0 Coyote in the antimatter blue.

If you want a V-8 get a V-8, don't settle. It's your money, if Ford don't offer a V-8 go to a brand that does.

Every time I bought a new truck off the lot, 4 of them, there were always things I had to compromise on. Every time I ordered a truck, 6 of them, I got exactly what I wanted.
