THIS TRIP which resets on startup is exclusive to powerboosts. Not sure of the logic why….

Most likely, there's people that want to gauge their per-trip efficiency.

With trailer. Without trailer. Bed full of mulch. Empty bed but pulling 10k lbs. Driver only. Driver and Big Bubba.
Bubba. City vs highway.

I usually use one of my Trips for mpg tracking. Habit from having vehicles with crappy floats or busted gauges I didn't feel like fixing.

I’m going to reset one of the trips. I know I have two trips. I’d like to keep Trip 1 as lifetime, Trip 2 for long runs like the one I head out in tomorrow.
if there are three trips on an XLT/302a, I haven’t found the other one yet.

I like to leave one trip for the life of the vehicle. That way I can get an idea of total mpg. My 21 had been reset with 6 miles. So it shows the total minus those 6

Unfortunately on our Toyota you use the trip button and start button to reset the oil life so it's been reset a billion times.

I agree. Was just saying I didn’t understand the logic why Ford limited the third option of THIS TRIP to powerboosts. Wish I had this available on my Ecoboost.

Probably the same reason we have an hour meter in our cluster

Has anyone found an answer? Mine seems to have something to do with listening to the radio with the key on after shutting off the truck? really is annoying!

Just a computer glitch. Mine did this once. At the same time it went into hill descent control mode, which is not even an option for me to select.

My 21 does the same thing - very annoying.
Randomly goes to 0 MPG and stays around 1.5 or so until I reset it.

with all the complaints posted here hasn't anyone contacted Ford and asked about it ? A 2021 would still be under warranty.
