Is It Time To Remove The Keyless Entry Buttons?
I think Lincoln and a few other higher end models (like Explorer Platinum, Mach E etc) have the flush haptic keypad. Probably a few reasons the big physical keypad is retained for the F-150, my opinion that the primary reason could be for use with gloves or similar if on a jobsite or while doing an activity.
Our Lincoln MKZ has the flush touch pad that does certainly look better. The buttons will work better with gloves though. I really like having the option to lock the keys in the vehicle, and also that the kids can get into the truck without keys or an app. I like the idea of the app, but have never used it practically. Might change now that i can remote start our of range of the fob.
I don't disagree with you on this point, but the key fob isn't part of my truck, and I'm not forced to ever really look at it
I guess in the interest of full disclosure, I've always hated the look of those buttons. They looked cheap in 1995, and look even more cheap in 2022. I just think it's a bad look for a high end truck. Now, if I were a contractor who was in and out of job sites every day, and driving an XLT work truck, the ugly buttons on the door wouldn't bother me at all.

This thread is baffling.
It's a great feature, why would Ford remove it? It's also incredibly popular, most people I know who have it don't carry a key around.
And once you've had it, keys start to seem silly, all my locks at home are fingerprint or code. Key Backup only.

Definitely leave it alone.. I've never owned a vehicle with a keypad until I bought this one and use it daily.
if I'm at the river floating, out hunting or fishing or doing anything where i dont want to lose my keys or just don't need to carry them I love locking them in the truck and not having to stash them in the bumper.

Sorry that I baffled you with my thoughts. I, too have "smart" locks throughout my home that are able to be accessed by using a code. None of them are as ugly as Ford's 30 year old keypad design
