I would avoid the powerboost personally. They have significant more issue vs the 5.0. I know this is not a long trip, but one of the few times I was driving quite slow and was intentionally milking it. I just can’t bring myself to drive like 55 MPH, lol. 23 5.0 / 3.73 / 4X4

what issues did you have? mine last year had evap core replaced (see A/c intermittent thread) and recently a code for bad coolant temp sensor, both repairs were under warranty, for myself the engine and transmission have been great...so far.

Outstanding mileage. I would not have thought that was possible. My '21 Lariat 2.7L has done about 22MPG since new with about 50% highway driving and I thought that was good for such a large vehicle.

After 5k miles my tank average is 19.1, very impressive. Cylinder deactivation works well.

My best trip to date.

Sorry to burst your bubbles, but mileage over 30-40 mile trips can be very misleading. My 24 mile trip to a relative's house will yield me around 32 mpg every time. I don't post or brag about that. What I do post is the 1368 mile trip that shows a 23.1 mpg. That's a real test involving different terrains and traffic conditions.

Beyond that, yes it would be costly. And its a guarantee that the battery will fail at some point as all batteries fail eventually.

The rest of the hybrid components should be covered under powertrain warranty.
The bumper to bumper is 3yr/36k miles and power train is 5yr/60k miles, do the non-hybrid trucks just fall apart after they're over? Also, the hybrid battery is only like $2k and readily accessible under the truck. It will be expensive, but not excessive. It's also not like the truck becomes a lawn ornament if the battery just loses capacity.

As of last week I found the battery for between $2300-2700. It is a plug-n-play "suitcase" that seems to be well designed (from a replacement view). Of course I'm sure a dealer will have to do any programming of a new unit.

You are basing this on which statistics?

I can’t find the exact link to the CR article but here is one and it’s pretty obvious from user complaints on the forums as well.

F150 Hybrid batteries are around $3,000 + Labor so its on the lower end of the cost spectrum. But its still something to be aware of if you decide to keep one for the long term. FWIW, that would not deter me away from a F150 Hybrid. If I were to purchase a truck right now I would want a 2024 STX and PB isn't an option.
