Default Power tailgate interior switch?

Can anyone confirm whether there is an interior switch to open and close the tailgate on the 2021s? I was told by the dealer there is, but I have never been able to confirm it..

Yes there is on the panel to the left of the steering wheel. Tested it at one of the events.

How do you close the tailgate when at the rear of the truck? One video I saw showed the guy having to squat and reach up under the tailgate to push the open button which seemed ridiculous. Surely there’s a more accessible button back there? Like the edge of the tailgate?

That was the only button I was told about. I had the same thought as I was looking elsewhere on the tailgate for the close button asked and they said press the open. Works but it is awkward reaching under there with the tailgate down.

As a 6’-4” engineer, that is a horrible design oversight if true.......just dumb. Or at least do the kick open/close like on the SUVs. I use it on my wife’s explorer all the time.

Although I didn’t ask, I think maybe you can do it from the key fob. Not 100% sure though.

Didn’t see the key fob but that seems likely since my 2020 drops the tailgate. The more I thought about it the more a button where I initially looked for one, “top” of tailgate or tailgate work surface was likely to be hit accidentally loading/unloading from the bed. Maybe on the side of the tailgate or end of bed rail? Not sure what other brands offer for this.

I believe you can close the tailgate as normal or you can simply begin to lift and then let go and let the tailgate close on it's own. This is of course with the power tailgate.

You can open and close the tailgate from the keyfob on the Chevys. AFAIK, they are the only other brand to offer a power closing tailgate. Ram is only power opening/release, but you have to manually close it.

With the power tailgate, I'm aware of 4 ways to close it. By the button in the cab, the button on the fob, the handle on the tailgate or give it a nudge. As a previous poster suggested, just start to lift it and it will close on its own.
