I'm glad they don't have it. It's my least favorite "feature" on our Escape and Edge. When you're loading or unloading something and your foot hits the right spot, bam. The door closes on you. And there is no way to disable it.

 

On the power deploying steps, you have to kick a switch. It doesn't activate them on motion.

 

I saw someone say you could open tailgate from keypad hitting 5 in this thread. I was able to do this on my 2018 Platinum. It seems that I cannot do so on my 2022 Platinum. I can’t see any reference in the manual either. Have any of you been able to open your tailgate with the keypad sequence or is this a change in functionality? I realize there are many other ways, I found this rather convenient since I don’t carry my key fob that much.

 

I have tried the same on my 2021. Have not tried any other combo, I just hit 3/4 and it unlocks the rest of the doors and I go to the back and hit the button. Would be nice to hit a number on the keypad and have it down by the time I get back there...
