Hideaway Shifter
If it only works in park, what's the point of it exactly? ... I'm with someone else earlier in this thread in feeling that it's just another crevice to collect dust and french fry particles. The only "purpose" seems to be on work-surface equipped trucks..... on which they could've just put a column shifter and not needed this unnecessary innovation. This crap is why trucks keep getting so expensive.

I apologize if this has already been asked, but if you order the flat work surface on let's say, for example, an XL with the column shift with the vinyl 40/20/40 seating, is the hideaway shifter included in lieu of the column shift?

No. There is a work surface built into the fold down seat.
I can't find it now, but somewhere around here is a video that shows a different work surface for trucks with a column shifter. I don't believe by adding the work surface you will get the console shifter.
