Default Double Honk!!!

Anyone know if the double honk when the door closes can be disabled by the dealer or forescan on the 2021? Hate to sound petty but this could be a deal breaker for me...

Ya, my neighbours love the double honk at 5:30 am when I back the truck out to warm up!
I'm sure they would like to rip the horn right outta my truck.

I got into the habit of not closing the door all the way, just on the first catch.

The double honk is a real mis step by ford.
Shoulda been just a light beep or something much less obtrusive than the dam horn going off.

I saw a video of a pre-production ‘21 a while back and it still had the double honk. Maybe that won’t be a final production feature or maybe I just heard background honks. Let’s hope it’s not part of the final ‘21 package.

The recent videos I have seen it honks, ugh. Makes me jump each time and I hate it. Easy fix with Forscan, but not sure if that can be done on the 2021. Wonder if a dealer could do it... Maybe a tech will kmow. This is the stupidest nuisance "feature" on the F150.

Is this something added after 2017? Or only on upper trims? I'm lost on this "double honk" as mine doesn't have it...

It’s only on push button start trucks.

And those are migrating into the lower trims. I expect a lot more complaints about it now that it is available on XLT.

Great point. Bet you’re right that complaints will increase.

Ooohhh ok, makes sense. Is it ONLY if you leave the truck running? This cannot possibly be every time you exit the truck can it? That would drive me nuts! Leaving it running is a rare use case (for me anyway) and I could probably deal with it (I think?)

Ok I found this: https://www.f150forum.com/f118/aggra...4/#post4108859

So it looks like no matter what if you leave it running and walk away with the fob it will honk. BUT regarding locking the fob inside without it running (like say, in your garage), you need to close the door unlocked first, then lock with the keypad, else you get the double honk.
