Default Deep sleep mode.

Is anybody having problems with their truck going into "Deep Sleep Mode"? My remote start and my approach lighting and running board deployment don't seem to work when this happens? Also, my dashboard is black until I push the start button when in this condition. Normally, it lights up as soon as you open the door. Does anybody know why this is occurring?

Will a battery that is low on charge cause this? If so, why is the battery low on charge? It gets about 25 highway miles round trip, every day. Does anybody know what the fix is for this? My 2021 Platinum is barely a year old with 8600 miles on the clock. I ordered a cig lighter voltmeter so I can monitor battery voltage from the drivers seat, but that won't come until tonight.

time for a trip to the dealer for a battery test and possible replacement under warranty. that is one of the first symptoms of a failing battery

Optional step 1: Get a battery tender and plug it in until the battery is completely charged. Then go from there.

Step 2: Take it to the dealer to test the battery

I guess I'll be going back for the battery check next week. Jeez. Thanks for the information. I was afraid of this.

My wife's 2019 MB E63S had to be put on the charger every couple of weeks to keep from getting low battery warnings in the MB app. Imagine a $125K car that had to have the battery charged every week to keep from getting battery warnings. Man! What a car though!
Too many electronics on these new vehicles, but I love still the extra gadgets.

Somebody needs to come up with better batteries for these things. Can you use a Lithium Ion battery as a starter battery? Do any carmakers use them?

Hi there. Can you send us a DM with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into this on my end.

Default Out of my hands now.

After talking to Ford Customer Service, I dropped off my truck at the dealer. Since it was a Friday afternoon, they graciously gave me a loaner 2021 F250 XL to use until they figure it out. Not bad, but it's no Platinum trim.
The dealer suspects a bad battery, but they'll let me know. There are also 2 recalls that need addressing, so they'll take care of those too. Maybe I'll get it back today or tomorrow, maybe.

I went thru this on my 2020 after about 1.5 years and 16,000 miles. It also happened once at a year old, but only ocne. Took it to the dealer,
was a bad cell in the battery. Replaced under warranty, and they did the recalls at the same time. Truck is 2 years old and with 17,200 on it now.

It's been fine since.
Good luck.

Default 3 causes for this

I was told by my service advisor that there are three scenarios that cause deep sleep mode to happen.

Battery voltage falls below a certain point. I believe it was 11.5V, but don't quote me.

No start on the vehicle for 14 days or more.
Outside temp is below a certain number. ( It doesn't get very cold where I live so I didn't pay attention to what temp it was)

None of those apply to me or my truck, so I don't get what's the problem. My truck is my everyday driver. It's not cold where I am. It has to be low battery voltage. They say they can't make it act up.
