Default Connected Navigation

Do we lose all built in navigation after three years or does it just stop updating the maps?

My navigation had a three month trial period and after that I'd have had to pay $80 per year. Not worth it. I use Google Maps through Apple CarPlay.

Now you have me curious. I've seen posts that say three years, and yours with three months.

I have a 2023 F-150KR, that's coming up on its three month anniv. How do I determine how long the connected Nav is good for?

Thanks, and Merry Christmas to all!

If you have three months, that’s all you get. If your window sticker says three years, then you get more time. It’s option dependent.

I’ve also learned that weather, including radar weather is lost after the prepaid period.

Put me on the fence about subscribing. Having the weather radar so easily accessible, without grabbing the phone has been very useful many times.

they should follow XM’s habit. Discounting. I just picked up another year at under $5 a month. I’ll cancel at the end of the year before it goes away.

My 23 XLT came with 3 months on the navigation, You would thank as expensive as these trucks are they would not have to nickel and dime you. I licked the radar but for $80 a year I will just plug in my phone. That's what I was doing on the Jeep I traded in.

Why should everything be free? It costs money to continually update maps and to provide weather, traffic, and other "live" data.

My 21 came with 3 years. Never use it. Expires this coming April.

Log into your Fordpass/Owners account. It tells you when the subscription expires (under Connected Services).

They will send you a reminder asking you to continue the service soon. They want your business.

As was noted, the Ford pass app will tell you all your services and expiration dates.

Sorry, I must have missed the post that said to check the app.

According to the Ford app, I'm good until 2026. So I have the three years.

This is another area where Ford Marketing shoots itself (and us) in the foot with absurdly confusing names:

”Connected Navigation” = 3 month complementary “trial period”.

”Built-in Connected Navigation” = 3 year free subscription.

Near as I can tell, “Built-in” means that the price of the three year subscription is built-in.
