Default Collision avoidance test

I was curious if anyone has experienced the auto braking feature engage or knows how to test it .
Just bought a 24 STX which is equipped with it and wanted to test and try it so as to know what to expect if it kicks in. I approached a vehicle from behind on the highway and approached it to
what I’d say was an unsafe distance and nothing happened.🤷🏻I have to wonder if it’s not working . I did check the feature settings and it is turned on.
I’d like to get a sense for how hard it brakes or is supposed to as I’ve read others fear it will cause them to get rear ended.

You will no when it kicks in. I turned mine off because it almost made wreck as i was going by someone to a merge and it slowed me down.

Yah that’s concerning. I know I’ve slammed my brakes on to avoid accidents before but when I looked in the rear view mirror and saw someone coming up on me too fast I sped back up to avoid being rear ended.
I do a couple of long trips each year and catch myself not paying attention and contemplate whether it’s beneficial.

Best real-world test I can think of:
Spray paint contrasting lines on a large piece of cardboard, allow to dry overnight. Prop cardboard up on your driveway and drive through it at slow speed.

Yeah me too. I pulled up I guess too close to traffic to make a turn and it scared the ** out of me. Another time which was my first time I was on a somewhat rural road and there was a road bicyclist and I was passing him and it slammed on the breaks at like 45mph... scared the ** out of me that time... I have it disabled.

I don't think it's active at low speeds (below ~30 mph). I could be wrong.

I was going slow to a stop when mine kicked in. It didn't like how close I was to the traffic.

Those scenarios would scare the heck out of me too. However, if while cruising along on the highway or while with cruise control on if it slowed you down gradually as you were creeping up on someone it would be nice.

Default Post Collision Braking

Another one to figure out is how to disable Post Collision Braking.

After a wreck with restraint deployment the brakes will be locked up and vehicle cannot be driven.
