He is imaging it. The 2.7L EcoBoost didn't come out until 2015.

You guess correctly.
In some crazy situation where someone was blowing turbos like that, there is way more to the story. Something like a really abusive tune that runs a turbo way outside its compressor map. That would be like revving an engine to 9000 rpms and wondering why it blows up.
In any case, I think you are a liar.

Has anyone else had this problem with the 2.7 turbo? My truck is a 2016 F150.
My 2015 with the 3.5 Ecoboost also liked to go through spark plugs. I always used the Ford 1 step colder or something like that (been a couple years since I had to order them lol) but I ended up doing them about every 10k miles. Sometimes they didn't need it, other times you'd find hair line crack. At least these ones are super simple to replace and there's not 16 of them like my Hemi had....

Most trucks on the lot have the 2.7 ecoboost engine but there is at least one that has the 5.0l engine, might be 4 x 4 but that one might be too tall to fit my garage. I don't tow so I don't need a high tow rating. I'd be happy with a short bed single cab.

Which engine would be best for the long term, 2.7 or 5.0? I kept my last truck for 24 years. The dealer even told me how much I spent in maintenance and repairs ($16,000) plus 3 sets of tires I didn't buy from Ford. I understand there are issues with all engines from coolant leaks into the cylinders to cam phasers and transmission problems. I'm hoping I don't get those problems down the road. I also read somewhere to put premium fuel in them.
I own a 2013 f150 with a 5.0L. I currently have 230,000 miles on it. I just keep up on the oil changes and maintenance. it's been a good truck.
