Default 2024 FORD Perf Whipple kits for the 5.0 are approved

Was talking with a FORD Perf dealer yesterday and he told me that the FORD perf Whipple kits are completed and have all of the required certs etc. and he is ready to install! Gonna take mine in late Aug and have him do the upgrade. 13K for the kit (includes a tune from FORD Perf) and the install. You retain your factory warranty on the truck and you get 3yr/36K miles warranty on the blower as well. Only caveat is they have to be installed by FORD or an ASE cert mechanic. Not all dealers will do this either. None of my local dealers are "FORD Performance" dealers, so I am gonna load up the Ducati in the truck, take it 300 miles west and drop it off for a week to get it done, then ride the bike back out to pick her up when completed. You could also buy the kit direct from Whipple and have it installed but those are not covered under the FORD warranty umbrella.

I can't wait to get Plain Jane some goodies under the hood!

$13k I'd personally be buying a regular Whipple and installing it myself.

I believe they are Stage 3 (as in 3 liter). For 2024 they are not California legal apparently as stated in the FORD Performance page:
  • CARB certified 50-state legal for 2021-2023 (E.O. #: D-231-89)
  • 2024 for non-California vehicles

$13K including installation? $3300 more than the parts alone.

Not worth it IMO...and then to be constrained to Stage 1 power. Can't pulley down, can't install an aftermarket tune. Better buying an Ecoboost 3.5 and tuning it.

What would keep you from pulleying down, other than voiding the warranty?

Tuned 3.5 ecoboost will struggle to hit 700 hp that the Ford Whipple kit makes, and likely won't reach the 800 hp the regular Whipple kit makes. Then a mild pulley down and retune, and no question. 🤑

It's very clear from his post that maintaining the warranty(s) was very important in his decision making process. What power does a Stage 1 make. Maybe low 600s? If that...

The link he posted on the kit says 700. The Whipple direct kit he linked says 800. Whipple makes a lot of power.
