Default E85

Is switching to E85 worth it? What kind of power gains are there?

I ran E85 in my 5.0 almost exclusively with an MPT 93PRX tune. The difference was noticeable. I lost a few mpg's but gained power. I have no idea how much power gain, it was never dynoed.
What I would do was watch the cost delta of 93 and E85. If it was more than .70 cents a gallon, I'd use E85. I figured if the cost delta was less than that, I'd run 93.
I also did as the owners manual suggested, and each oil change time, I'd throw in 93. When switching from one fuel to another, I'd run the level down to less than a 1/4 of a tank, and figured it took at least two tanks before I was back on whatever I chose to run.

Have you read your M-A-N-U-A-L? You can't put E85 in your EcoBoost. PERIOD.

I am sure that with a custom tune it can be done. MPT does an E30 tune for the ecoboost.

Then have at it. But don't then post "I screwed up my truck with E85" and not expect sarcasm back.

expecting sarcasm when I post something stupid is one thing but to get sarcasm when asking a legitimate question is another. I’m sure that Ford doesn’t recommend an aftermarket tune either but the majority of us have one.

From what I understand, the fuel system isn't configured for E85 on the Ego's. Not sure if it's a capacity issue, or a corrosion issue.
Yes, there is an E30 tune. The problem with that is having to mix your own fuel. Personally, I'm not totally sold on running E30, maybe paranoid, but until Ford comes out and says it's OK with an Ego, I'm sticking with 93.
Plus I'm a lazy SOB. If it was easier, if the benefit was there, power and mileage wise, cost effective, and OK with Ford, I'd do it.
