That sounds much more accrate then the dyno comparison, for sure

Yeah, I was looking at MPT and their 15-17 5.0 F150 2WD made 322/324 all stock. Are you saying that most 15-17 5.0 4wd's dyno 10 over that?

If I’m reading right and those numbers come from two different dynos then they’re about as useless as a comparison can be.

Just my opinion but based on some dyno runs with Mopars late model hemis, but it used to be you figured a 20% loss to the rear wheels with an automatic transmission. It seems with newer vehicles the loss is more like 10%. Mustang dynos also tend to read lower than some other dynos. You also then have to question if they are correcting the numbers to standard humidity and pressure. Without some facts, you just don't know what the numbers mean.

no, Im saying that 322/324 def sounds more like the actual power the 15-17's are putting down then what those guys are saying on the first post.

The number means nothing except compared to stock on the same dyno, the number + trap speed does though.

And if you believe the 2015 had a horsepower peak at 4800 rpm, then you can believe those graphs too lol.

And those numbers are cherry picked at best, not peak to peak.

Jesus you guys are even defensive in the face of a new 5.0 vs your old one what is wrong with you?

I said it wasn't peak to peak. But when you make 70 more hp than the outgoikh one at the same rpm that's really ****ing significant.

I’ve been dynoing vehicles for decades and one truth holds true, unless it’s same dyno, same day the results should be taken with a grain of salt. I’ve run my own vehicles on different dynos with the same set-up and seen close to 100hp differences on a 1000hp motor.
Obviously the 18 puts down more power. One from the bump in hp Ford gave and two from the more efficient trans. That doesn’t erase the fact that those numbers come from completely different dynos on completely different days. It’s just not a valid comparison.
Does the new truck put down more power? Yes.
Does it put down over 60 more hp? No.
