Default Power Steering Problem


I replaced my power steering pump on my 1996 then usedthe 4wd with wheel locks after finished power steering cuts out in the middleof turns unless i give the engine gas. any ideas of what this could be?
I have a 1996 F150 4x4 with 93,000 miles on it

I used the 4wd about a month after I changed the pump

Sounds like either your belt is stretched or the tensioner is weak. Do you also hear belt noise?

Not anything new there has been noise from the belt since I got it would that be something I would need to loosen up the belt to fix

The belt tensioner is spring loaded, that spring gets weak over time, I suggest you replace both considering the mileage.

Does not mean its not bad. there have been NUMEROUS times I chased ghosts because of a bad new part.
