Default cam positioning sensor.

I have an 04 F150 super crew with the 5.4 triton in it. Last week it started acting up. Its fine going down the road but then sometimes when you slow to a stop or idle it starts knocking and sputtering and stalls itself out. Start it back up and its fine for a bit then the same thing. Had it checked out and said it was Cam Positioning Sensor on bank 2. Looked it up to see that bank 2 was drivers side and replaced sensor. Reset engine light and next day did the same thing and computer reads the same thing. Does anyone know what might have caused this or how to fix it? In need of some expertise.

Had the exact same on my 08, guess its a pretty common issue with the 5.4's. Didi you replace it with a oem ford part or a autozon special?

fords are very particular about the sensors being OEM ive learned over the years. Better off paying a little extra to get the good stuff when it comes to sensors

Default 2005 F-150 cam position sensor

Hi, I am having similar issues with my truck sputtering. I went to Auto Zone and the codes were for the VCT's and Cam position sensor. I replaced the VCT's and was wondering if can just pull out the cam sensor and replace it, since it's just one bolt. I was looking at various you tube videos none of them were for a F150 but they talked about making sure your pistons were Top Dead Center. Is this a concern for the F150?

Default cam sensor

All you have to do is pull one bolt and pull sensor out. replace with new OEM sensor(no aftermarket junk). Quick 5 minute fix.
