Driving down the road today at 50 mph. TPMS lit up, said front right tire was 12. Looked for a spot to pull over and it went to 7 then 2.
Somewhere somehow the sidewall had a rough cut slice roughly 1.5 inches long. No idea what happened. After reading the owners manual lowering the tire worked and managed to get the jack in place and change it out. Spare is a Perilli and other 4 are Goodyear’s..
Going to cost almost $240 for a new tire. One good thing is Fords system to lower the tire is easier than crawling underneath and having the spare drop on your chest.
At least the wheel wasn’t damaged.

No, lol.
Just out for a nice drive with my brother visiting our childhood haunts. Still kind of strange as we drove about 40 miles before the tire started to go flat.

Could have been sidewall damage that eventually gave out

Probably got pierced during the drive. I once saw a small chunk of metal at the end of a merge ramp. Jerked the wheel but didn't avoid. Audibly aired down in about ten seconds, back end got squirrelly half way through the stop. Only time I've had to use a spare, 24 years back.

Sorry for your bad luck there.

So Ford continues to amaze us with the best parts management logic ever. So my truck came with 4 pirellis and a spare goodyear and yours is totally the opposite? Man the tire guy at the line must have a really hard life with such complex puzzles...

Stupid for sure. If the 5 tires matched could of taken the new spare and mounted it on the factory aluminum wheel and replaced the spare with something less expensive.

Mine has 4 GoodYear's and a Michelin as a spare. They're really all over the place with their tire sleection.
