X plan works out ok in the new trucks as there are not very many rebates on them. My dealer said it was better than anything else he could do.
Mine is in Canada. I got a Lariat 502. Sticker was 62,500 and I paid just over 50 for it.
I thought it was a great deal. And I hope the dealer makes money on these deals. We need them to stay in business to take care of us.
Keep in mind profit isn't a swear word.

Whether X-Plan is good or bad depends on perspective.

All the hardcore members around here will go on and on about their negotiating skills so it's a little intimidating. They twisted this guys arm, they put the squeeze on this guy, this guy was a young punk and I have experience, blah blah. Good for those guys. They drive a hard bargain and got what they wanted.

Other people are non-confrontational or simply don't care what they pay. These are the people X Plan works well for. They planned on paying close to sticker, then X Plan comes in and they save a couple grand. Win-Win. Or they don't want to deal with any bull**** because their time is more valuable than sliding a piece of paper over an IKEA desk with some initials on it three or four times.

To each his own. If you can negotiate down the price, do it. Right now it should be fairly easy to get invoice - incentives depending on the model. XLT is your best bet for deals around here. The higher up in trim, the more you save with X-Plan.

www.fordpartner.com Put in your code for whatever qualifies you for X-Plan and it will let you into the website. From there, you can do "Build and Price" and you can spec out whatever Ford vehicle you want and it will show you the X-Plan price. Or you can search dealer inventory and find a truck you want and it will show you the X-Plan price. Extended inventory works best IMO. You can also view window stickers and VINs. Once you have the VIN you can find out what dealership they are at.

I think I looked at over 150 window stickers last night lol. I've realized I'm not to get everything I want and no extras without ordering. Time to narrow down the must-haves from the like-to-haves. Different post though...

For those without an X-plan affiliated organization, you can simply use EAA01 as your partner code at fordpartner.com. It will allow you to build and price with X-plan figures for reference.

Booze hit the nail on the head. I can go in and turn my salesman into my worst enemy and get on the bad side of the general manager, or I can get down to "about" invoice pricing with a friendly smile and a handshake. In my experience, x-plan has saved more than any negotiated deal at my local dealer (only two other dealers in state and they are each 360 miles away).

For those who don't wish to waste any time at the dealer, nor enjoy the vehicle purchase experience, X-plan is a beneficial option.

Best of luck, OP.

Sorry to jump on this thread with another question...
Those that get below X-Plan pricing, any idea how it compares to AZ Plan?
Using the search vehicles I found an XLT similar to what I built with an MSRP of $47,455; X Plan of $43,500; and AZ Plan of $41,511.
Obviously another $2,000 savings from X to AZ is a good amount, is it possible a dealer could go as low as AZ pricing if negotiated?

Matt
P.S. In Chrome when you goto search inventory if you right click and inspect element you can drill down and see X and AZ plan prices

On my 2015 platinum, invoice was $63 less than xplan, and zplan was $2325 less than xplan.

Keep in mind that the only negotiating room left for a dealer after XAZ plan pricing is to cut into the 3% of net MSRP holdback.

What did you end up getting it for? In relation to invoice.

Thanks to SchillerM for letting me know how to see the various prices. Firefox also does this. This information is what forums are great for.

Another question...

Is there any benefit to the dealer using the Xplan vs just negotiating for the same price? I read in the x plan policies that they get a commission on the sale. Is that just the holdback or the holdback plus a commission?

I'm all for car salesmen making a living too, just don't want them to make it all on me.
