Default Would you do it

Well, I dropped into a local dealership to inquire about order a 16' and look at the Sync 3 in a GT.
Long story short, they are going to offer me a good deal on a 15' that they have. It is a Platinum with every option I want, MSRP around 61k. They are offering 11k off which is very tempting.. My issue is that I always told myself I would never own another Ford if they still had MyFord Touch... but price talks!
I saw the post about retrofitting Sync 3 but seems shady as there is no proof and its "coming soon". In all, if it were true, I would order it and take this 15.

Would you personally wait out for the 16's or take the discounted 15?

Lot of cool stuff coming to sync 3. I'd google it.

I think you can do a bit better than 11k off. I got 10k off on an XL without anywhere near the options the Platinum has. If I could get 12-13k off on the 15 I'd go for it.

The sync 2 vs sync 3 isn't enough to overcome that. Now, if you want to wait for a few months when the incentives on the 16's match what you have on that 15, I'd wait.

I'd wait for the 16.

There will be incentives out there. The higher end 15's just seem to have more things going wrong than XLs or XLTs, at least from what you read here.

Retrofitting sync 3 is going to cost a minimum of $2,000 just in parts as far as what can be seen on the web right now. That's just not worth it in my opinion when you can wait for a 16 that has it.

Not sure what you don't like about MFT. They've added Siri eyes free in the newest update, and the version in my 15 at least doesn't seem nearly as clunky as they used to be.

ahh...price the great equalizer. 11k...now ask yourself what could they add to a screen on your pickup that's worth 11k?

My patience with the slowness of sync is worth that haha.

That is also something that worries me about getting a 15, seems like there are a lot of issues.. but I sure for every dissatisfied person, 10 or more are happy.

I'm 110% satisfied with my XLT, and most of the others you see commenting in the thread about not having any issues are XLs and XLTs, and a few lariats.

The people doing the most complaining are Plats and KRs.

likely a much higher ratio when you consider how many have been built. internet forums attract the reports because smart folks generally research problems they have before taking them to the dealers so it may appear that these vehicles have issues, and a small subset do but the vast majority don't and are solid as a rock...
see what i did there....

My 2015 is great. The recent update to MTF solved my issues with using an iPhone. Most of the time all I use are the volume buttons on the steering wheel. And the call answer or Siri for the phone. So I don't see the issue with MTF. However, I did better than $11k savings on my 502A Lariat.
