Default Will this be a total loss?

Was hit while turning left. Main impact was centered at passenger rear wheel. All 4 side curtain airbags deployed as well as side torso bags. Body shop said something about sending it to Ford due to rear spring being sheared off. Besides thatt I don't know extend of damage as I was pretty shaken up after accident. Anyone want to hazard a guess as to whether insurance will consider it a total loss or repair it? My guess is they'll repair it as all doors close and no front end damage but friend is telling me otherwise.

Spring sheared depends on how the frame looks. What year etc also plays into it

Not sure if this is what you want to hear but I bet they total it.

Tough to tell but it looks like the axle is pushed backwards yet the leaf spring is still in place. That would suggest that it broke at or near the spring u-bolts which would almost certainly ruin the axle housing.

An entire new axle is expensive but can normally be sourced used which is common insurance practice. (Likely will be used bed as well.)

The door is also no problem but the damage to the cab I’m not certain about. And don’t forget about those airbags. They alone are expensive to replace along with the interior damage that the deployment cost.

I would guess that you will be shopping for another truck.

Dibs on the power seats.

Sorry about your misfortune. In prospective, accidents happen, no one is permanently hurt, material things can be replaced.

I've been surprised by what they don't total out these days, based on truck prices in general being solid and whatever other factors they use.

Who knows though, that looks pretty rough. Glad you are okay.

Ouch...IMO, with damage like that, it's better to have it totalled than rebuilt. I don't care how much money is thrown at it, it will never be "just right."

I'm voting total, especially with that many bags deployed.
