Whose Android Auto is broken now?
My AA worked great up until about Wednesday after Google pushed out their security update. Ever since then my Nexus 5X won't work with AA in my truck.
What I noticed was that now, when I plug in the phone, it starts charging rapidly like normal but within about a second stops, then starts charging slowly. I expect this is why AA isn't launching because the phone needs to be charging faster than that in order to initiate. Phone still connects to the truck via BT and works with Sync.
I tried swapping USB cables and even bought a brand new one, no dice. Phone charges just fine off of AC and charges rapidly when connected to my laptop, so it doesn't seem to be a phone or cord issue.
Here's where it gets weird. I took the phone to the dealership and had a salesman help me out. We got into a brand new 2018 F150 and plugged the phone into the USB, and not only did it NOT launch AA it couldn't even charge properly. It kept charging, stopping, charging, stopping, ad infiniutm.
So since I bought the phone off the Google Play store I call their tech support to find out if my phone is pooched, and the tech tells me that they've had several calls about this issue and tells me that Ford needs to come out with an update to Android Auto. He acknowledged that he had no idea when (or possibly IF) this would get fixed.
I use AA pretty much exclusively while driving for navigation, calls, music, responding to texts, etc. so I'm not pleased about this. Anyone else run into this?

Thanks I'll give that a try today, but sounds like it might be a deeper issue. The fact that I have a Nexus 5X means I get OS updates before all other manufacturers which isn't always a blessing.
I have an unlocked Note 8 so no updates for me yet. Thanks for the heads up but clearing cache and sync reset should solve the problem. It does sound like a Ford issue and not a Google issue.

I just fixed my aa issue. It sounds similar to the op problem. I would plug in my phone and aa would flicker on the truck but would not load. I reset the truck, phone, etc and still no luck. I finally found the fix, I wiped the cache partition on my phone and it has worked perfectly since. Here are some instructions on how to do it........ https://drfone.wondershare.com/erase...partition.html good luck!
