Wheel Well Liners
Not sure what I could have done wrong. Everything seemed to line up with the factory holes. I put the clips in the holes and screwed them on.
I tried putting a little piece of cardboard between the liner and the shock temporarily, and sure enough no more loud pop. Obviously that isn't a good fix though.

I installed the Rough Country liners on mine, a few weeks back! Install was a Breeze. I trimmed around the Shock Bolt, for easy access with a dremel!
As well as drilling 1 hole towards the front (oem hole in wheel well opening), and reusing a bolt and clip that gets removed. When either installing the oem mudflaps, or Rough Country liners. I forget, which
. If I had 2 more spare bolts and clips, I would have installed them to the rear, but rough country doesnt include either with the kit!
I thought it was good, to add the bolt for extra security!

I just purchased the OEM wheel liners. Then I viewed the Youtube videos on how to install them. I also decided to view the installation video of Husky. That was when I realized that the Husky model covers more area than the OEM. The Husky model covers the H frame portion that is exposed in the wheel well and also a portion of the shock absorber. In this sense, the Husky protects more. I looked at my receipt and it says there is a 25% restocking fee if I return the OEM.
I was lucky as I ordered my vehicle AND got X-plan price on everything.... but anyone that is thinking about ordering should not hesitate to add them vs. "waiting" to do OEM.
An aside, when buying a vehicle that does NOT have liners from a dealership... use it as a final leverage to have them "throw them into the deal...installed". Not a lot of cost for them and may make it sweeter for the buyer!? I would never have another F-150 without one form or the other of the liners ....period...AZPLAT
