Default Wheel Offset

Hey Everyone,

I placed an order for wheels today and Discount tire reached out to recommend I choose a different wheel.

I have a 2018 F-150 Crew Cab 4WD. I have a Fox 2.0 set in the box waiting to install.

I really wanted to try and keep my tire flush with the outside of the wheel well.
How bad would a 17x8.5 with 0 offset make my poke out? Should I go with the 18x9 with +18 instead?

I know for sure I want Method Wheels with General Grabber X'3

Any input is appreciated.

+18 would be perfect IMO..

woops misread.

Yes I was told +18 is the way to go if you want it inside the fenders.

Thanks guys,

I just want to make sure I'm not getting the look of the tires tucked in too far either.

Yeah, I thought I knew. I was basing my decision off of pictures from custom wheel offsets.

I think it really also depends on factory flares or not. I have 18x9's with +12 offset and 275/65/18 tires, the tire sidewall bulge sticks out just a little but the wheel and tire tread sits flush or inside the body. I also have factory flares.

What size tire are you going with? +18 is PROBABLY safe but could end up sticking out a tad. My stock rims (+44) were basically flush when I had 35 x 11.5s.

The tire size would be as follows;
17x8.5 w/ 0 offset the tire size would be 295/70R17
18x9 w/ +18 offset the tire size would be 275/70R18

I also have the Factory Flares. Which also lead me to believe I would be ok with a 0.

This is a truck I was comparing to.
