Default What to do......

I currently have a 2016 F150 XLT 302A supercrew FX4 with the 5.0l and love it, however my salesman called me two weeks ago offering me a "great deal" on a 2018 Lariat 502a package. Two things about the great deal that I didn't want was the 2.7l eco-boost and the twin panel moon roof. I asked him to see if he could get me into the same truck I have now , but he said that was stupid and why not take the upgrade for just a few dollars more a month. I asked him also about a lariat with a 5.0l, never heard back from him, but he said something about incentives. So why can a dealer offer such a great deal on a lariat and not an XLT 302a F150? If I can find a deal at another dealer for the same as what I have or even a 5.0l lariat is it worth it to go from the 16 to the 18?

thanks for your time,
SB

He has a certain truck he wants to move, for a certain reason. Why, who knows. But that’s why he isn’t interested in looking for something else for you.

He's telling you it's stupid because he wants to unload the 2.7.

No reason to get a new truck, keep what you have. Couple more years a new model will be released, maybe then go for a new one.

I dunno, does paying off the truck and not having a payment appeal to you more? It seems to me that a 2016 to 2018 model isn’t a big enough change for me. Maybe a new generation truck, but I don’t get it when people upgrade within the same generation unless you’re leasing. If you’re happy with your 2016, keep it and pay it off. Not the sexy answer for sure.

It's end of the year they probably need to meet yearly sales goals. If it's a leftover Ford starts throwing the dealers extra incentives to sell them.

There's no way I'd trade for anything with a rattle-roof.

It’s a truck nobody bites on and they call and try to push it on people.

For the first time, in a long time, I am keeping my 15 and paying it off. I really want to remember the feeling of having no car payments.

he has a truck he wants to move, and he knows he will make a bigger commision on a lariat than he will on an xlt.
