"Cold call" to move some iron (aluminum) before the end of the year. I'd beat him up on the price and see how low he's willing to go. Who knows, you may get one hell of a deal.???
I went from a '16 to an '18 and I like the '18 much better. Mostly because of the 10 speed, it's quieter and I can start the truck from my phone.

A deal isn't real a deal if you don't really want what you are getting. I have had the 3.5EB and now have the 5.0 again. I would want either over the 2.7EB. I could have been offered a $2,000 better deal on a different truck with a 2.7EB an I would have driven it always knowing I wanted the 5.0. It's your money, get what you want and don't take a deal for the sake of a deal...

Dont look at it in a 15 to 18 or 16 to 19, look at it as an XLT to Lariat. That is a jump and one that I made. Well worth it IMO.

I also made that jump, but it's also going from a 5.0 to a 2.7 Eco. That would be a deal breaker for me.
What's the resale on a 2.7 Lariat. Aren't most of them 3.5 or 5.0?

At the stealership I got my truck from, most of the Lariats were 2.7, even the FX4's. They had several XLT's 5.0's and I almost got one, but went with the 2.7 in the Lariat because of the BLIS mostly, really helps while driving and changing lanes to the right for me (blind in that eye). I do wish they had a 5.0 in the 501A trim, but couldn't justify spending the extra coin to go to a 502A where they had 1 available. Either they sell really quick, or they just get more 2.7's in, not sure. It does what I need tho, so no regrets with it. I just miss the V8 rumble, coming from Mustangs for the last 25 years!

Thanks for all the replys. The dealership in question has 6 Lariats in stock, and 4 trucks identical to mine. They also have a large number of 302A & 301A F150's with the 2.7l in stock and those are all priced to clear! My reasoning is if you can deeply discount one, why not them all if I'm showing an interest to buy, but I'm only interested if its what I want and not what you're trying to move as overall they have alot of 2018's in different trims & engines to get rid of.

If you love your current truck, stick with it. Buying one of these trucks and having it be a good choice is like winning the lottery...chances are you'll end up in a vehicle with problems. It's not worth the risk in my opinion, but if it's something you really want to do, you should, if you weren't planning on trading in, then you shouldn't. Just my $0.02.

I love my 2016, it's still young but so far so good. But you know what I love more than my truck...NO TRUCK PAYMENTS. When they say they can get you in a brand new truck for the same price as your old one don't forget you're starting all over on the payments. As long as my truck is doing what I need it to do and the maintenance and repair costs aren't too high I'm keeping it.
