Default What the.......

I heard, for the 2nd time, a kind of a warning horn or maybe chime or some sort of sound when accelerating to pass. First time someone else was in the car with me and they heard it too. They asked if someone honked at me. I wasn't sure what it was as I had done nothing to get honked about. Today it happened again when I was passing someone. Like as soon as I accelerate and turn the wheel I got the sound. I could not repeat it on an open part of the road by just flooring it. Hard to describe really almost like a distant honk. If the car I was passing was honking I would know it I am sure that was not it. The only thing different is during the pass I accelerate and then switch lanes while still accelerating to complete my pass.

Anyone? Bueller?

It was probably the cars passing you that you ran off the road.

Most likely the Anti collision system. You’re getting too close to the car in front of you before changing lanes. Accelerating and closing the distance at speed is setting off anti collision

I see you have the 601a option package.
In that package you have the
Blind Spot monitoring with cross traffic alert option.
A good bet that is what you are getting the alert sounds from.
Your exciting it!
Good luck.

It's your "Slingshot, Engaged" alert.

I cannot say what you have on your truck but my experience with other vehicles the warnings you can get in that situation are:
-Lane departure warning if you do not use your turn signal while changing lanes.
-Blind spot warning if you pass a car and pull back into the lane in front of it while the system thinks you're too close to the other car or put your turn signal on while too close to the other car.
Not 100% sure on the blind spot turn signal warning but feel like one of our cars does that.

This is interesting. That has never made any sounds before just the light in the mirror (blind spot). The cross-traffic only seems to work when I am in reverse and something is coming it beeps. Not really sure what that system does though so maybe.

Have you ever moved over close or into the other lane while the warning light is on?

Good question, I did start accelerating about 2 car lengths before the solid line (no passing) changed to the dashed line (passing) to be ready to zip out. My guess is the mirror blind-spot light would have been on while I was changing lanes and passing. I did use my blinkers to pass. The sound is quiet though like it is not coming from within the car but maybe. I'll have to go test this out and see if that is what it is.
