I wonder what would happen if the driver tries to pass someone three times. Maybe a hand gesture instead of a horn. LOL

they already know the answer.. they will drive it around .. go through the proper steps .. waste an hour.. then come back with the answer .. they can tell you soon as you walk in.. but that wouldn't make you feel warm and fuzzy

Why not LOOK at all your options for the package you say the truck has, and know!
There are a lot of features on trucks the owner does not know about and are different from package to package and level to level and year to year.
To many just assume they are all the same.
An example for my truck a 2018 XLT 5L.
.
The trans mode for WET/SNOW does something special with 4wd in snow. (The truck does not have 4A function.)
Rear is left open (don't pull lock-up on), front wheels are engages in 4H. ( remember the rear drives whether locked or not.)
Guess what? the system system uses the ABS to 'modulate brake' all 4 wheels when each wheel slip is detected. This transfers torque to the other wheel so that axle keeps pulling.
You can't believe the traction that results in deep snow even with all season M/S tires, 'yet' 1/2 worn down with 40k miles.
The modulation happens so fast and smooth you don't feel it.
The hint is the vehicle has electric EMG rear brakes. This is what is also used for traction control.
Same principle as a Farmer used on the old tractors of yesteryear that has separate left and right brake pedals to control direction when and power to each rear wheel, when needed.

My thought is it is either a warning from the collision system or a poorly timed traffic alert from the navigation. I think I remember having a horn honk when I had an accident on my route and the navigation tried to get my attention.

I do know what I have and collision avoidance is not a feature on my truck.

well, I looked at your signature and it said 601a.
Is that your option or not?
If yes, a lookup of that option says you do.
You ask about the sounds you heard and what you did when you heard them.
This is the only link I can find that might cause the sounds.
Only an attempt to help with revlent info.
If you don't, you don't, I have no reason to believe the 601a option left it out. or why..
Good luck.

601a only includes cross-traffic detection in the rear when backing up and BLIS. It does not include collision avoidance (auto-brake) or lane-keeping alert.

That package was:

Technology package ($1,395)

  • Lane-Keeping System
  • 360 camera w/split-view display and dynamic hitch assist
  • Active Park Assist
This is mine:

Collision avoidance wasn't standard until 2019. My 2018 is similarly optioned to FordGate and mine does not have it either. Takes that idea off the table.
