Hey everyone!

jmr061 is very knowledgeable. The MyFord Touch (MFT) performs scheduled maintenance when needed. It's nothing to be concerned about unless it happens often. Also, the MFT does not do wireless updates. They are done through a USB.

A visit to the dealer is a good idea. Keep me posted.

So, can someone explain exactly what "scheduled maintenance" is being performed ?

I don't see how this MFT does scheduled maintenance on it's own? It's not connected to the internet all the time.

I would think the dealer would have to do it or you download something and tell it too or perform an update.

I don't want any updates. It's working quite well as is.

I must add I don't connect my phone ever to the truck. I leave the bluetooth off. It did today come back on but I just got back to the settings and turned it back off.

I don't know why Ford has to keep pushing this stuff on us. If I turned it off leave it off.

It is not actually updating anything.
"Performing scheduled maintenance" is the polite way of saying your **** crashed and is rebooting. It doesnt update anything, it doesnt change anything, just a reboot.

That is what I figured it meant - bad, buggy code. Reboot to clear the errors and leaks.

Hi chap and kendive,

MDBoostWorks is correct. The system is not updating when you see PERFORMING SCHEDULED SYSTEM MAINTENANCE on your screen. It's rebooting. Actual software updates are not mandatory and can be downloaded when you're ready.

Went to dealer yesterday to have my Sync looked at for multiple reboots.- like I said, multiple/many in the little over a month I've had my Lariat. Result was they did a third reset and saying they were awaiting a response from Corporate on the problem. Had another reboot later that afternoon and no further response from dealer. Somewhat frustrating, to say the least. Love the truck other than the many reboots

Hey henry1943,

Please DM your full name, VIN, best contact number, email address, and mileage. I'll get this concern escalated to the customer service manager in your region.
