Default Tweeter upgrade worthwhile?

Just finished a complete audio system overhaul: 4 door speakers with KS Kickers, lc6i, amp and sub.

Any opinions on if it's worthwhile to rip the a pillars apart and replace the stock tweeters? It sounds GREAT as is now, however, the tweeters are tied into the front door speakers (from the factory) so they are being amped as well.

I'd guess I'd have to pull one to see what size. A search rendered nothing.

It sounds fantastic. The stock system was pathetic, honestly, it was my only gripe about the truck.

I do NOT have MFT, however, that wont matter for you. My method works for any truck without Sony audio and without ecoboost. Its 8 wires no matter what - run those through the Audiocontrol unit, then you have your preamp outputs for the amp and sub.

I was all in at about $800 off Amazon. Includes KS series speakers all the way around (minus tweeters), Kicker amp, Kicker HS8 sub and the Audiocontrol unit. Used the 9 wire speedwire to make 2 runs from the head unit to behind the rear seat. All wiring is hidden. I priced the same setup at a local stereo shop, and by the time you added their markup and labor they were a tad over $2k. I'll guarantee you by doing it myself I got a MUCH cleaner install as well. Not a scratch, scuff, dent or ding anywhere inside or outside

I really hate to make any comparisons to the OE Sony system vs the OE Sucky system I had. It sounds great as-is so I guess I'll just leave them alone. Not really excited about tearing the a pillars apart anyway

If you install the tweeters, where will you wire them to? Asked another way, back to the x-over in the door or by the amp? Seems like its worth it since you put in that much work already. I hear you about $ saved and not worrying about someone messing up your truck!

I'm going to do a similar setup, but am thinking of integrating an eq. Do you wish you had more eq control? Does the headunit limit the bass?
