tunning issues
Not really sure where to even start with this issue, but I have a 2016 F150 xlt 5.0 4x4 with some strange transmission behavior. I've had tunes from 5 star tunning on the truck for about the last 3 years and have never had an issue, but here in mid-west Ohio it's been getting above 90 degrees and after the truck sits outside at work and I go to leave it loses the shift pattern from the tune and goes back to its stock pattern then randomly at some point on the drive home the tune shift pattern will come back. yesterday it was 88 degrees outside and the truck fine along with in the mornings its fine. The gentleman who responded to my email from 5Star recommended to reflash the tune into the truck, and i did and made it about a block away from the house before it did its thing. I then let it set for a couple hours then decided to go up the gas station to get something to drink, made it up there just fine, left truck running outside with the a/c on for a few minutes, and when I came back out it was back on the stock shift pattern. The truck does have a code for invalid data received from the BCM but I believe that is from me playing around on forscan a couple months ago. I'm looking for ideas where to go with this issue, 5star said no one there has ever heard of this issue so I'm not expecting them to be much help. To me it seems like the ECM is getting hot causing it to go screwy. Any help would be appreciated.

The man reason I got my tunes was because I put 33x12.5 tires on it and I wanted to correct the speedometer and stop the constant in and out of 6th gear that came along with running such a heavy wheel and tire combo. With the 5star tune I liked the speeds that were set for it to be able to shift at, like 21 mph for 3rd, 31 for 4th, 35mph for 5th and so on. It also keeps the trans a lot cooler with or without a load, 75 mph down the highway in 5th gear with a trailer, the highest temp I seen was 203 degrees. Is this something TL Tech can do similar?

It seems like you are just spitballing and blaming the tune at this point. Before I started spending money with another tuner I would want to know what the issue was that suddenly caused the behavior after 3 years.
first Id clear the code. If you're having communication issues that could explain a lot. Otherwise probably going to have to do some data logging. I would ask them if they have a preconfigured log for transmission tuning they can send over maybe help diagnose the issue from there.
If its been fine for 3 years sounds like an issue with the truck itself be it electrical or mechanical.

Is there a chance the Lead Frame is the transmission is failing? I have a new lead frame and valve body for the trans because the range sensor used to be a little finicky and not acknowledge that the truck is in park, but it hasn't done that well over a year now.
1. Service transmission. Pan drop, filter change, refill.
2. KAM reset (keep alive memory). The truck does adjust to how you drive to a degree.
3. Retune with Oz. I've used 4 different tuners and when it comes to these trucks, Oz blows everybody away. Their entire business is these trucks and the transmission control is something they have down better than anybody. They also use flex/variable tuning so no more changing tunes for fuel.
If you do those 3 things and it's still wonky you definitely have a hardware issue with a dying trans
