Default Tuners

Have researched for information on the tuners themselves and seems most info is about the tunes.
I used one years ago, I believe an SCT S4, but would like to hear pros and cons from users of all.
Livewire, Ngauge, Bullydog, etc that are available from 5star.

He's asking about the difference in the interface boxes, not the tune itself. I don't think it matters at all. I don't think you'll see much effect from a tune on a 5.0.

I tend to agree. I don't really care what tuner hardware I use, because I use it maybe once a year and the rest of the time it lives in my glovebox.

After changing tire sizes and making the already bad shift mapping worse, it was well worth it for me to tune my 5.0L.

I like the options the Banks PedalMonster affords me . I use the Banks Derringer and iDash combo and the three together work flawlessly with my 3.5 EcoBoost as a daily driverTuners-photo250.jpg

I have only used the Ngauge and I like it... its placed right beside my drivers A pillar

Thinks I like, fully customizable gauges, easy to use, good display, ability to change tire diameter, reset the KAM, reset the trans, idle learn reset.... has not let me down in the past 3 years

Does everything you need it to do, and it looks good as an external gauge

oh sorry .. I've had NGauge and mpvi2 .. they both have their pros and cons ... for an NA tune i prefer the mpvi2 because its not really much to monitor on an NA tune and its out of sight out of mind .. boosted i prefer the NGauge because the information it gives you is very very important to monitor

I've tuned many boosted cars and I've found there is no information that is important to monitor. But I just use the included 93 tunes. If you do custom tunes that are on the ragged edge, then maybe there is something that needs to be monitored.

I have the Ngauge, Five Star tune, and only plug into when I want to check a code or reflash to another tune or stock for a dealership visit. Otherwise it lives under my center console.

I have the 2.7.

I didn’t want a visible aftermarket gauge, as it’s just not necessary to monitor or adjust anything after your initial setup and adjustments working with the tuner to dial things in. After 1 month, and 5* making some tweaks, I had it where I wanted it.
